Economic Soar: Aerospace Park Propels Growth in North Bengaluru
Karnataka Government's Initiatives Drive Development in Aerospace and Defence Sector
North Bengaluru is set to experience a significant economic upswing as the State Government focuses on enhancing infrastructure around the Aerospace Park. MB Patil, the Minister of Large and Medium Industries, revealed plans to boost growth in the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board’s Aerospace and Defence park near Kempegowda International Airport. The emphasis is on improving approach roads and establishing quality schools, hotels, and lodging facilities in the vicinity.
Patil emphasized the importance of putting the aerospace and defence sector on a profitable track by prioritizing the indigenisation of Maintenance, Repairs, and Overhaul (MRO) processes. Collaboration with the Labour Department is underway to provide better dormitories for Diploma and ITI professionals working in the sector. Anticipating a substantial increase in opportunities, Patil highlighted the inclusion of around 1,000 civilian flights in the region over the next 10-15 years.
Simultaneously, real estate experts foresee a transformative impact on the burgeoning region of Bengaluru North with the establishment of an Aerospace Park near Devanahalli. Following the strategic shift of the airport from HAL to Devanahalli, the area has witnessed significant growth. The upcoming Aerospace Park is expected to further accelerate this momentum, generating employment opportunities and facilitating a well-planned expansion of real estate.
V Devendrappa, a realtor, highlighted the role of the Aerospace Park in propelling the region into a hub of innovation and technological advancement. The relocation of the airport to Devanahalli marked a pivotal moment in the development trajectory of Bengaluru North, leading to improved connectivity and infrastructure, thereby fostering economic activities and driving real estate demand.
A key driver for realty development is the job creation potential of the Aerospace Park. The aerospace and aviation industry's demand for a highly skilled workforce is expected to attract talent, increasing the demand for residential and commercial spaces in the vicinity. This influx of professionals is not only set to stimulate the housing market but also contribute to the growth of supporting amenities and services. The Aerospace Park stands as a testament to Bengaluru's commitment to fostering innovation and research in cutting-edge technologies, according to Damodar Raju, another realtor.
